Hypnosis for Weight Loss
Can Hypnosis Help You to Lose Weight?

Can hypnosis really help people to loseweight? The short answer is yes!
Hypnosis for weight loss has been studied and proven to be beneficial in assisting people to lose weight effectively. This article will discuss how hypnosis works to help you lose weight so that you’ll be able to decide if it’s a method you should consider trying yourself.
As mentioned, there have been several studies of the effects of hypnosis for weight loss, many of which have been published in the journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology. These studies have taken place over many years and have shown that hypnosis not only provides increased success rates for weight loss but also that patients who underwent hypnosis for weight loss had better results in the long term than those who did not.
So the next question is, how does hypnosis for weight loss work? Hypnosis can help you to stay motivated toward achieving your weight loss goals as well as helping you to improve your overall determination and confidence. Hypnosis can also help you to reduce your cravings for high calorie foods and drinks, especially any ‘problem’ areas such as foods you normally head straight for in a crisis or when you’re feeling down. Hypnosis can also increase your motivation to exercise.
Hypnosis is not a ‘magic bullet’ that will somehow zap the pounds off you, but it is a tool that will help you to gain the confidence and motivation to set, work towards, and attain your weight loss goals. Hypnosis is especially useful in the times when you would normally become discouraged with your diet or get depressed.
Hypnosis is a fantastic tool which works alongside your diet and exercise program, not instead of it. One of the main advantages to hypnosis for weight loss is that it will help you incorporate into your everyday life the long-term changes you need to make to lose the weight and to keep it off. Hypnosis will help you to clearly identify your goals and motivate you to carry out the required actions, whether that’s calorie reduction, increased exercise, avoidance of problem foods or a combination of all of these factors. Hypnosis will help you to stay positive even when you’re not progressing as quickly as you would like to.
The time it will take to achieve your target weight – as well as the number of sessions of hypnosis you’ll require – will vary from person to person. Remember your weight problem is your own individual problem and the solution must be tailored to you as an individual too.
Whether you’re going to undertake your hypnosis sessions with a personal hypnotist or are planning to use a prerecorded CD or DVD, it’s highly recommend that you also talk to a dietitian or to your family doctor. They can help you to develop a weight loss program that’s designed for your individual needs. Once you have a program, hypnosis will access your subconscious mind and provide positive suggestions that will help you to stick to the plan and achieve the results you desire.

I don’t usually comment to a blog but I liked your post therefore I felt forced to do so. Straying away from the subject slightly, what do you think concerning walking? It is generally being put forward as the best exercise to burn fat.

Thanks for your comment.
I would have to agree that walking is the best exercise for many people looking to lose weight because it dosn’t have the risk of joint damage and injury that many other forms of exercise have. Swimming is also another excellent exercise but you can’t always have access to a pool especially in the winter.
