The heart muscle is constantly beating and there is no way to give it a rest. Like the heart, the colon is always and constantly expanding and contracting known as peristalsis. Normally it never stops but during a fast, it stops. Then after a rest of at least 5 days, it works better than it ever did. John Tilden, M.D., who fasted thousands of people in his Denver center, said &#8220;I must say in all seriousness that fasting when combined with a properly selected diet is the nearest approach to a &#8216;cure-all&#8217; that is possible to conceive: Profoundly simple and simply profound!</p>
<p>When you are eating, you are in control of what happens to your body. If you believe in God, then when you are fasting, then God is controlling what is happening in your body.
