Increasing Metabolism Foods: Food Speeds Metabolism
Did you know that the key to successful weight loss is increasing your metabolism? Increasing metabolism foods are one way to stoke up the process of burning calories in your body which happens naturally even if you are sleeping. Yes food speeds metabolism, this is especially true of a good breakfast. By eating the right foods at the right time you will not have to worry so much about counting calories and watching fat or carbs, just make sure you get the right kinds of fats and carbs.

What are the best fats and carbohydrates for metabolism?
Coconut oil has been shown to increase metabolism and is the only oil you want to cook with at high temperature because it has a much higher smoke point than any other oil. Most other oils start smoking between 300 and 350 degrees and you may not know this but when an oil is smoking it has become a carcinogen, that’s right a cancer causing agent. Other good fats are extra virgin olive oil (also a metabolism lifter) and omega 3 fatty acids that are found in many types of fish as well as flax. Stay away from saturated fat and trans fat.
Good carbs are those that are high in fiber like whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Spinach and berries are both great for jump starting your metabolism. Even if you must eat something from the “junk food” group, if you have some fiber with it that will slow the absorption of the “bad carbs” and lessen the impact on you blood sugar.

Protein and Green Tea:
Protein is another food that is great for increasing metabolic rate especially lean meats, fish, low fat dairy, egg whites and whey protein. These help to build muscle, and increased muscle mass burns more calories.
Green tea has catechin polyphenols which increase the rate at which your body burns calories. Grenn tea is loaded with antioxidents which help to get rid of those nasty free radicals that can damage your cells. It also has a little caffine. Have a glass with breakfast and another with dinner to keep your metabolism running high all day long.
Exercise:
Another way is thru exercise. This is a great way to boost metabolism and build calorie burning muscle. But remember that an individual must do exercise that is suitable and effective for his or her fitness level, don’t over due it. Don’t forget the water! Water is not only important for all around good health but also for losing weight. It has been shown that quite often when you think you are hungry you are really thirsty. Make sure to drink at least a half of a gallon of water every day, but a gallon would be even better.

Permanent weight loss may be achieved through increasing metabolism foods along with exercise and a healthy diet consisting of the right fats and carbs. Remember that food speeds metabolism. This process also provides many additional health benefits including reduced risk of heart disease and cancer.
